2010 Cameron Gray Award Winner Announced

Tuesday, 18 January 2011

The Cameron Gray Memorial Award is presented each year to a client of ConnectGV to recognise their effort and achievement over the year.  Cameron was a client of the GV Centre (now known as ConnectGV) for many years and despite his disabilities, was actively involved in community organisations such as the Sherbourne Shepparton Apex Club, the Shepparton Cycling Club and Ten Pin Bowling.  Cameron passed away in 1993 and the Award was first presented in December of that year.

The 2010 winner Maxine Sanderson, was nominated by staff for many of her achievements throughout the year as follows:

- Willingness to step outside of her comfort zone to develop skills at other locations.
- Independently access other  community venues.
- Assist other clients in the community through awareness of their needs.
- Great assistance to staff whilst volunteering at Meals on Wheels.
- Improved work ethic in other program areas and increased assertiveness.
