Communication

ConnectGV's communication enhancement develops and literacy and numeracy skills, awareness of self-presentation and consideration of others within the group (manners and social skills) and builds confidence in knowledge of self.

Communication skills are developed through various methods including the use of computers to develop new skills.  Communication and money handling skills are also developed through activities within the local community such as shopping, purchasing lunch and morning tea and enjoying these within local cafes and restaurants.  Participants also become familiar with symbols relating them to real life objects and situations.

Discussion on relevant events or new and interesting topics takes place each week and participants are encouraged to talk on that topic and put forward their views and opinions.
