Community Access

Community Access is a very versatile activity that provides participants the opportunity to access the community, such as shopping for personal items, visiting people, bush walking or simply window-shopping.

Different locations within the local area such as neighbouring towns, attractions, shopping centres, libraries, art galleries, pet shops, nurseries and opportunity shops are visited.  Participants also assist with Meals on Wheels on a weekly or fortnightly basis.

Keeping up to date with what is happening around the area and surrounding districts is important and interesting for participants.  This aids in the development of awareness of the value of money, the importance of budgeting and provides a sense of community.

Participants are provided with transported in ConnectGV vehicles, and are expected to provide their own money, shopping lists, banking or other personal business relevant to the planned outing.
