Computers

ConnectGV Computer training recognises that our community continues to become more computer driven.

Computers can be used as a tool to assist service users to gain and to maintain numeracy and literacy skills, developing hand-eye coordination and concentration skills.  Computers can assist people with disabilities in communication regardless of the person's ability.  In addition, the exposure to such technology can be useful in interacting in the wider community and world wide in a variety of ways including email and the internet.  Computer based activities can also be used as a form of ‘easy to access' recreation that has general acceptance in the wider community.

Specific and individual options are available to people with low, medium and high support needs, which is a key element to ensure service user outcomes. Software specific to participant interests and needs has been developed.

ConnectGV has a range of digital imaging hardware and software. The use of a scanner, digital still photography and digital video gives staff the opportunity to provide participants with high quality visual resources created ‘on the spot'.
