Music

The aim of this activity is to develop participant's appreciation for music and to promote free expression and role plays through the medium of music.

Music sessions are a fun, active and very noisy experience.  Participants have the opportunity to choose their own favourite songs and to make up words as they go along which encourages invention, participation and communication.  Participants have the opportunity to experience the sounds of various instruments including bells, shakers, tambourines, drums, acoustic and electric guitars and other instruments are occasionally brought in by staff.

Other activities include exploring musical concepts such as ‘fast', ‘slow', ‘loud' and ‘quiet', although ‘quiet' doesn't often make an appearance during ConnectGV's music sessions!  Movement and dance are incorporated into the sessions, with waltzes and rock 'n' roll always group favourites!  On occasion, visiting musicians provide a different sound and play songs that are not as familiar to participants.

For those participants who wish to do so, there is also opportunities to participate in a local drama group at Shepparton Adult and Community Education which has held performances in various locations in the community.
