Residential Options

Three modern accommodation units have been built in recent years by ConnectGV to provide supported accommodation for up to 6 people in each home.

Staff provide support to residents at all times when they are not attending Supported Employment or Day options.

Each resident has a separate bedroom that they have furnished in colours and the style of choice.  Modern furnishings and appliances ensure a comfortable living situation for residents and pleasant working conditions for staff.

Activities are regularly organised by staff and range from backyard BBQ’s in summer, shopping, picnics, fishing trips and other recreational activities including bowling and movies. Day trips to other towns are also regularly offered.

ConnectGV also provides management and staff support in 2 Government built facilities where residents need a higher level of support due to behavioural issues.

In October 2010, ConnectGV opened its newest residential option in the My Future My Choice House.  This residential option was funded by the Department of Human Services and is now managed by ConnectGV.  The My Future My Choice house was constructed to accommodate up to six young people with a disability that are either living permanently in residential aged care or whose parents are aged 65 years or older.  This house is located within a communioty setting, close to shops and community facilities and will increase opportunities and independence whilst also providing 24 hour support.  Residents are able to enjoy their own space with their visiting family and friends, which has been tailored to their individual needs and style, or can access the spacious and welcoming common indoor living areas, or landscaped gardens.

See the possibility, not the disability
